Endless NightNetherstorm was really a terrible place.

Arkiss had stumbled upon this one truth somewhere around the bottom of his fifth round at the sad little tavern in the goblin outpost. He could no longer even taste the vile stuff that the innkeeper, an oddly sympathetic goblin matron, poured into glass number six. It was potent stuff, bright pink and smelling faintly of motor oil. It made his insides burn and boil as he downed it, and his bleary vision swam. The small room lurched threateningly and the grief-stricken, plastered hunter laid his head on the bar.

The hat was eventually abandoned to facilitate the running away and, as it was a rather hot day, the chase was given up. He still sleeps with one eye open, just in case.

Lemme guess, Wizard's Coast is a book with short stories about Jarlaxle and Entreri?
Plus that dude who stole Jarlaxle's hat is probably doomed... Jarlaxle will hunt him till the end of the world to get that hat back, since it's become his symbol and all.
